Smoothies

Once the weather starts to warm up, I spend a lot less time standing in the kitchen over my hot oven and a lot more time drinking my fruit!

My favorite snacks in the summer is made with fresh and frozen fruit to create a delicious and healthy treat! To celebrate the much-anticipated warm weather (at least here in Massachusetts!) I have compiled a list of  fresh, frozen and fruity smoothies for breakfast, lunch or after dinner to cool down!

Instead of ice cubes, I find that frozen fruit creates an amazing consistency without watering down my fresh fruit! Bananas make perfect “ice cubes” and so do strawberries, blueberries and pineapple! To create my smoothies, I simply combined all ingredients plus about a half cup of coconut water in a blender and blend for two minutes or so.

Keep your eye on the consistency of your smoothie as you want it to be smooth without any chunks so you can slurp it down with a straw! Remember, Mother Earth won’t be here forever, so true to use recycled straws and jars or containers when possible!
